Meghan Brown, a 36-year-old former JP Morgan analyst, has been awarded $35 million in damages after a glass door shattered on her while leaving a physical therapy appointment in Manhattan back in 2015.

The incident resulted in a traumatic brain injury for Brown, which she claims had a devastating impact on her career. Brown asserts that the injuries sustained from the shattered glass door caused her to be out of work for a year and ultimately led to her termination from JP Morgan in 2021.

In addition to affecting her professional life, Brown states that the injuries have also impacted her ability to perform everyday tasks and even her relationships, including her love life.

Following her departure from JP Morgan, Brown worked for a cryptocurrency company but was subsequently fired. She has since transitioned to running her own gelato business.

Jurors determined that the negligence of the building owner, 271 Madison Co., was a significant factor in causing Brown’s injury. As a result, Brown was awarded $35,184,208 in damages to compensate for the harm she suffered due to the incident.
