Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath of Uttar Pradesh paid humble tribute to the immortal freedom fighter, Veerangana JhalkariBai, on her death anniversary, commemorating her invaluable contributions to India’s struggle for independence.
In a heartfelt homage, CM Yogi Adityanath praised Veerangana JhalkariBai for her unwavering courage, indomitable spirit, and remarkable patriotism in fiercely retaliating against the British to protect the motherland. He emphasized that her legacy of bravery and dedication to the cause of freedom will forever remain etched in the annals of Indian history.
Veerangana JhalkariBai, born on November 22, 1830, rose to prominence during the Indian Rebellion of 1857, where she played a pivotal role as a woman soldier in the women’s army of Rani Lakshmibai of Jhansi. Her unwavering loyalty and remarkable leadership qualities led her to become a prominent advisor to the queen, Rani of Jhansi.
At the height of the Siege of Jhansi, Veerangana JhalkariBai displayed extraordinary courage by disguising herself as the queen and bravely fighting on her behalf at the frontlines, allowing Rani Lakshmibai to escape safely out of the fort. Her selfless act of valor and sacrifice epitomized the spirit of courage and resilience that characterized the struggle for independence.
Veerangana JhalkariBai’s remarkable contributions to the Indian Rebellion of 1857 serve as a shining example of women’s empowerment and resilience in the face of adversity. Her legacy continues to inspire generations of Indians to uphold the values of freedom, courage, and patriotism.
On her death anniversary, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath expressed his profound respect and admiration for Veerangana JhalkariBai, reaffirming her rightful place among the pantheon of immortal freedom fighters who dedicated their lives to the noble cause of India’s independence.
