“Madgaon Express” marks Kunal Khemu’s directorial debut in the Hindi film industry, with production helmed by Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani’s Excel Entertainment. This comedy flick boasts a star-studded cast including Divyenndu, Pratik Gandhi, Avinash Tiwary, Nora Fatehi, Upendra Limaye, and Chhaya Kadam.
Released on March 22, 2024, “Madgaon Express” received favorable reviews from audiences and critics alike. However, its performance faced challenges in the second week with the arrival of competing films like “Crew” and “Godzilla vs. Kong,” which seized a significant portion of the market share.
Despite facing stiff competition, “Madgaon Express” managed to maintain a decent box office collection, especially benefitting from the Good Friday holiday on its second Friday. The film crossed the ₹1 crore mark on that day, although its growth remained modest due to the dominance of the new releases.
In its second week, “Madgaon Express” grossed ₹1.03 crore, bringing its total earnings to ₹14.88 crore in India. While the competition posed hurdles, the film’s ability to sustain its box office presence speaks volumes about its appeal among audiences.
With its humorous storyline and talented ensemble cast, “Madgaon Express” continues to entertain viewers despite the challenges posed by the ever-evolving landscape of the film industry.
