The new year is upon us and it’s time to start planning those special trips to make the most of it. Whether you’re looking for a romantic getaway or an adventure with friends, there’s sure to be a place on this list that will make your new year memorable.
1. Shimla
The largest city of the northern Indian state of Himachal Pradesh, Shimla is also known as Simla and is the capital. In 1864, the British declared Shimla the summer capital of India. The city became the capital of East Punjab after independence and was later made the capital city of Himachal Pradesh. The city is the principal commercial, cultural and educational center of the state.
Shimla was built on top of seven hills: Inverarm, Observatory, Prospect, Summer, Bantony, Elysium, and Jakhu. Jakhu hill, which is at a height of 2,454 meters (8,051 ft), is the highest point in Shimla. The city has expanded to include more than just the original seven hills.
2. Gulmarg
Snow and silence are especially for those who like the town. Your loved ones will be amazed when you take them to this amazing destination. New Year’s in India is a paradise for nature lovers and one of the best places to celebrate the holiday.

3. Manali
Although the Valley of the Gods is crowded with tourists throughout the year, Manali is worth seeing on the occasion of New Year. What a gorgeous place to begin your New Year! New Year’s merriment is twice as much fun when enjoyed around a bonfire in the freezing atmosphere.
Celebrate good times with family, friends, and loved ones at famous places in Manali. Mall Road is an ideal place to explore on New Year’s Eve. The bustling markets are also a great place to go shopping.
4. Udaipur
Have a great New Year in Udaipur, the City of Lakes! It is one of the best options for enjoying yourself with your loved ones. If you’re looking to explore some stunning palaces and do some shopping for amazing souvenirs, you should plan a visit to the city. Come experience the best of what the royal lifestyle has to offer with great food, luxurious surroundings, and exciting New Year’s celebrations.
5. Auli
The city of Auli is located in the Chamoli district of Uttarakhand, India. Auli Bugyal is also known as a plain covered with mountain marg (grass) in the Garhwali language.
It is a small ski-resort spread over 5-7 km. This resort is built at an altitude of 9,500-10,500 feet. The snow-covered peaks look very beautiful here. Their height is about 23,000 feet. Deodar trees are found here in abundance. Their fragrance can be felt in the cool and fresh air here.
Auli is an ideal destination for exuberant people. There is no arrangement for snow carts and sleds etc. Skiing and only skiing can be done here. Apart from this, many beautiful views can also be enjoyed here. It is a very pleasant experience to watch the sunrise behind Nanda Devi. Nanda Devi National Park is 41 km away from here. Apart from this, falling snow and seeing the open sky at night makes the mind happy. Auli is a great tourist destination away from the hustle and bustle of city life.
