Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma has commended the Meghalaya Police for their commendable efforts in the ongoing battle against drug trafficking within the state. Sangma’s remarks come in response to the recent success of the East Khasi Hills Police in intercepting a significant quantity of heroin worth Rs. 1.5 Crore from an interstate trafficker.
Highlighting the continuous efforts of the Meghalaya Police in curbing drug-related activities, CM Conrad K Sangma expressed satisfaction with the recent series of achievements. He emphasized the importance of maintaining vigilance and proactivity in safeguarding the state from the menace of illegal drugs.
In his statement, Sangma applauded the dedication and diligence of Dr L R Bishnoi, IPS, and his team for their role in these successful operations. He credited their tireless efforts and strategic interventions for the significant strides made in combating drug trafficking in Meghalaya.
The consecutive victories in intercepting illegal drug shipments underscore the unwavering commitment of the Meghalaya Police to preserving the safety and well-being of the state’s residents. Sangma reiterated the government’s steadfast resolve to create a drug-free Meghalaya, emphasizing the collaborative efforts of law enforcement agencies and community stakeholders in achieving this goal.
The recent seizures not only disrupt illicit drug networks but also serve as a deterrent to potential traffickers, sending a clear message that Meghalaya remains vigilant and proactive in combating drug-related crimes. CM Conrad K Sangma’s acknowledgment of the Meghalaya Police’s achievements further reinforces public confidence in the state’s law enforcement agencies.
