Madhya Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Rajendra Shukla offered heartfelt tributes to the late Nandkumar Singh Chauhan on the anniversary of his passing. Chauhan, a stalwart of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and former Member of Parliament left an indelible mark on the political landscape of Madhya Pradesh.
Nandkumar Singh Chauhan’s journey in politics began with his entry into the now-defunct Shahpur Vidhan Sabha constituency, which later became a part of the Khandwa Lok Sabha seat. Despite an initial setback in the 1980 Madhya Pradesh Vidhan Sabha election, Chauhan’s perseverance led to his eventual victory in 1985, marking the beginning of a distinguished political career.
Over the years, Chauhan’s commitment to public service saw him elected to the Madhya Pradesh Vidhan Sabha in multiple terms, followed by six consecutive victories in the Lok Sabha elections from the Khandwa constituency. His leadership and dedication earned him the position of BJP state president in Madhya Pradesh, where he served until April 2018.
Tragically, Nandkumar Singh Chauhan’s life was cut short by complications from COVID-19 during the pandemic. His untimely demise on March 2, 2021, at the age of 68, was mourned by political leaders and citizens alike, who recognized his contributions to the state and the nation.
