Nitin Gadkari Inaugurates Key National Highway Projects in Haridwar, Uttarakhand

Haridwar: In a significant development aimed at bolstering infrastructure and connectivity in Uttarakhand, Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways, Nitin Gadkari, inaugurated & laid the foundation stones for 30 National Highway projects worth Rs 4,755 crore in Haridwar.

The ceremony was graced by Chief Minister Shri Pushkar Singh Dhami, MP Shri Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank, former Chief Minister and MP Shri Tirath Singh Rawat, Rajya Sabha MP Smt. Dr. Kalpana Saini, MP Shri Naresh Bansal, Uttarakhand ministers, and MP-MLAs, mark a significant step towards advancing the state’s infrastructure and connectivity networks.

Among the projects unveiled today are the widening of the 2-lane paved shoulder from Lameri to Karnaprayag in Rudraprayag and Chamoli, along with the Dudhdhari elevated flyover in Haridwar. These initiatives are poised to not only streamline transportation but also enhance connectivity, particularly from Rishikesh to the India-China border. Additionally, the flyover in Haridwar is anticipated to alleviate traffic congestion in the religious city and facilitate smoother access to other spiritual destinations.

The foundation stones laid for 28 projects further signify Uttarakhand’s trajectory towards rapid development. These projects are poised to significantly ease the journey of devotees on the revered Chardham routes, while also boosting connectivity between Uttarakhand and neighboring states, thereby catalyzing economic and social development across the region.

With a focus on enhancing infrastructure and connectivity, these initiatives underscore the government’s commitment to fostering holistic development and ensuring inclusive growth in Uttarakhand.
