Officer Trainees Of Military Engineer Services Call On President Droupadi Murmu.

On the 5th of January Officer Trainees of Military Engineer Services called on President Droupadi Murmu at Rashtrapati Bhavan. The President urged them to make use of cutting-edge technologies such as machine learning and artificial intelligence in their future projects.

The President told the officer trainees that they had joined the services at a time when India had just entered the Amrit Kaal and also assumed the chairmanship of the G20. The world is looking up to India for new innovations and solutions.

“They will be instrumental in providing rear-line engineering support to all defense arms including Army, Air Force, Navy, Coast Guard and other organizations. The dedicated engineering support that the armed forces receive enhances their overall performance and keeps them ready to meet any contingency”.

“As young officers in the field of construction, it is also your prime duty to care for the environment,” the President said Sustainable development cannot be achieved without the increased use of renewable energy. The MES is greatly contributing to reducing the national carbon footprint by completing a large number of Solar Photovoltaic projects, she noted.

She said that they could innovate and use new building materials to protect residents from hazardous chemicals. She added that overall human well-being increases when surrounded by natural materials.

The President said that the construction sector is very dynamic and technologies are changing very fast. The economic growth and development of a nation largely depend on this sector. She said that officers of the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Statistics can contribute immensely to developing infrastructure using modern tools of project management.

She urged them to make use of machine learning and artificial intelligence, which are cutting-edge technologies, in their future projects. She said that this would help with a more efficient design and reduced time frame for construction.

The President feels happy that MES has completed the first-ever 3D-printed residence at Gandhinagar in Gujarat. He urged the MES officers to try to use more such techniques which are cost-effective and help in avoiding wastage. He urged to promote the recycling of materials wherever possible.
