on the 9th of December President Draupadi Murmu addresses the valedictory function of the 97th Common Foundation Course at the Lal Bahadur Shastri National Academy of Administration (LBSNAA), Mussoorie.

President said”Many of you officers will run the administration of a large part of the country for the coming 10-15 years and will be connected with the general public. You can give a concrete shape to the India of your dreams. I appreciate all the past and present officers of Lal Bahadur Shastri National Academy. Who has molded the selected minds of our country in the form of civil services with great dedication and hard work”.

Today, before coming to this meeting, I have got the opportunity to inaugurate a hostel block and many facilities of Mess Arena Polo Field here. The whole world is struggling with the problems of global warming and climate change. There is an urgent need to take effective steps to solve this problem.

President said “It is a matter of great pleasure that from today the work of Parvat Mala Himalayan and North East Outdoor Learning Arena is starting, which will act as a knowledge base for civil service and procedures about the Himalayan and North East region of India”.

She said”It is a pleasure for me to meet and address the young officers at the Lal Bahadur Shastri National Academy of Administration, the apex training institute for India’s civil services. Congratulations and best wishes to all the Officer Trainees for successfully completing their training at the Academy”.

You could have gone in any field but choose the path of your civil services. As everyone knows, you have come from different parts of the country, meeting you today, I am directly experiencing the unity in diversity of India.

In April 1947, Sardar Patel was meeting a batch of IAS trainees. At that time he had said, “We must expect and we have a right to expect the best out of every civil servant in whatever position of responsibility he or she may be”.

President said”I would appeal to all of you, especially daughters, to keep encouraging girls to move forward wherever you are during your service. When our daughters will come forward in various fields, then our country and society will become strong”.
