Japanese professional footballer Shinji Kagawa plays as a midfielder for Belgian First Division A club Sint-Truiden and the Japan national team. One of the best Japanese players of all time, and he is widely regarded. In 2010, Kagawa began his professional career with Cerezo Osaka before joining Borussia Dortmund. On a four-year contract, Kagawa signed for Manchester United from Dortmund after two years.

He has won over 90 caps and scored over 30 goals since making his senior international debut in May 2008. On 29 November 2012, Kagawa was named Asian Football Confederation International Player of the Year.
