On the 15th of November, Shri Narendra Modi gave a speech at the G-20 Summit in Bali on the topic of food and energy security.

He said.” I sincerely congratulate President Joko Widodo for providing effective leadership to the G-20 in a challenging global environment. The Covid pandemic, climate change, and the developments in Ukraine are all global problems. The combination of all these things has caused havoc in the world. Supply chains around the world are in ruins. Essential goods are in crisis all over the world. The challenge is more severe for the poor citizens of every country. They struggled every day just to get by. The double whammy is too much for them to handle financially. They lack the financial capacity to handle it because of the double whammy. Multilateral institutions such as the UN have been unsuccessful on these issues, and we should not hesitate to acknowledge that. We have all been unable to make suitable reforms. The G-20’s relevance has become more significant today because the world has greater expectations of it.”

PM also said, “I have said multiple times that we need to find a way to go back to the path of ceasefire and diplomacy in Ukraine. The Second World War wreaked havoc over the past century in the world. The leaders of that time made a serious effort to take the path of peace after that. Our turn has arrived. We must create a new world order for the post-Covid period. We need to show concrete and collective resolve to ensure peace, harmony, and security in the world. I am confident that when the G20 meets next year in the holy land of Buddha and Gandhi, we will all agree to convey a strong message of peace to the world.”
