Amidst the celebration of his century, a sudden twist of fate unfolded for Suryakumar Yadav. While fielding in the third over of South Africa’s innings, the India skipper twisted his ankle while attempting to stop a shot from Reeza Hendricks. Off balance, he threw the ball but had to be carried off the field by the support staff and physio, leaving a temporary void in the Indian lineup.
Jadeja’s Leadership and India’s Remarkable Win
In Suryakumar Yadav’s absence, deputy Ravindra Jadeja stepped into a leadership role, marshaling the team to an impressive victory. Jadeja, along with spinner Kuldeep Yadav, shared seven wickets, ensuring South Africa folded for 95 in 13.5 overs. The Surya-less side convincingly won by 106 runs, leveling the T20I series 1-1 in Johannesburg.
