Bus Accident in Chhattisgarh: President Droupadi Murmu joins in expressing sorrow over a devastating bus accident that occurred in Durg district, Chhattisgarh. In a post shared on X, President Murmu extends heartfelt condolences to the families of the victims and wishes for the speedy recovery of the injured.
The accident, which took place in the Kumhari area, resulted in the loss of at least 12 lives and left 14 others severely injured. Durg Collector Richa Prakash Choudhary provided details of the tragic incident, stating that the bus, carrying workers from the Kedia Distillery, overturned and rolled into a ditch at approximately 8:30 pm on Tuesday.
“The bus carrying laborers of the Kedia Distillery fell into a ditch near Kumhari around 8.30 pm, resulting in the deaths of approximately 12 individuals while 14 others were injured and admitted to a hospital,” Choudhary confirmed.
Authorities continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the accident, while efforts are underway to provide medical assistance and support to the injured passengers. The incident serves as a poignant reminder of the importance of road safety measures and the need for stringent precautions to prevent such tragedies in the future.
