Today, in Parliament, the Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman presented the final budget of the Modi government 2.0. As expected, there have been changes in the tax slab. Some people have welcomed these changes while others have taken to social media to create memes. Twitter is flooded with memes about income tax. Before we look at the memes, let’s understand the new tax slab.

This is the new tax slab:

Under the new tax system, those with an annual income of 0 to 3 lakh rupees will not have to pay any tax. Those with an income of more than 3 lakh rupees and up to 6 lakh rupees will be taxed at 5%. Under the new system, those with an income of more than 6 lakh rupees and up to 9 lakh rupees will be taxed at 10%. Meanwhile, those with an income of more than 12 lakh rupees and up to 15 lakh rupees will be taxed at 20% and those with an income of more than 15 lakh rupees will be taxed at 30%.
