The G20 EMPOWER alliance is a significant step towards empowering women and promoting gender equality in the private sector. With India’s inclusive and action-oriented presidency, the alliance aims to transform challenges into opportunities for women-led development and entrepreneurship. The focus on digital skilling, education, and women’s entrepreneurship, along with the active participation of business leaders and governments, will create a conducive environment for the empowerment and progression of women’s economic representation.
The three thematic meetings scheduled in Agra, Thiruvananthapuram, and Bhopal will provide a platform for discussions and consensus-building among women leaders from G20 countries, guest countries, international organizations, and the private sector. The consensus will form part of the Communique for the G20 EMPOWER 2023 and will be provided as recommendations to the G20 leaders.
The opening session of the Inception Meeting in Agra will be graced by the Honorable Minister of Women & Child Development and Minority Affairs, Smt. Smriti Zubin Irani. The Minister will share her valuable insights on women-led development and India’s commitment to addressing gender-centric issues through mutual cooperation.
The G20 EMPOWER alliance is a much-needed initiative for accelerating women’s leadership and empowerment in the private sector. With the focused efforts of business leaders and governments, the alliance will create a positive impact on the economic representation of women and pave the way for a more inclusive and equitable future.
The G20 EMPOWER Inception meeting is also a great opportunity for stakeholders to collaborate and share best practices for women-led entrepreneurship, digital skilling, and financial inclusion. The meeting will bring together experts from various fields, including the government, private sector, non-profit organizations, and international agencies, to discuss and formulate strategies to empower women across the G20 countries.
In addition to the discussions, the exhibition and cultural programs will provide a glimpse into India’s rich heritage and traditions. These events will also serve to promote women’s work and achievements and create awareness about their contributions to society.
The G20 EMPOWER website will be a valuable resource for information, updates, and resources related to the G20 EMPOWER initiative. The website will also serve as a platform to share the latest news and developments on women’s empowerment and to showcase the impact of the initiative.
The G20 EMPOWER Inception meeting is a significant event that promises to bring about a positive change for women in the G20 countries. India’s G20 Sherpa Shri Amitabh Kant and Secretary, Ministry of Women & Child Development, Shri Indevar Pandey, will play a key role in leading the discussions and driving the initiative forward.
The meeting will provide a platform for stakeholders to collaborate and share best practices and will help to create an ecosystem that supports the aspirations of women and girls. The G20 EMPOWER 2023 is a step in the right direction towards a more equal and just world for women and girls.
