In a dazzling turn of events at the IPL auction, Yash Dayal, a left-arm fast bowler hailing from Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh, emerged as a star acquisition for Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB), with a whopping bid of Rs 5 crore. Known for his lightning-fast deliveries, Yash Dayal bowls at an impressive speed of 140 kilometers per hour, making him a formidable force on the cricket pitch.
Yash Dayal’s cricketing journey reached new heights when he was selected for the Indian cricket team in 2022, chosen by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) for the Bangladesh tour. Despite the anticipation surrounding his debut, an unfortunate injury prevented him from showcasing his skills during the tour.
The news of Yash Dayal joining RCB sent waves of celebration through his hometown of Karbala in Prayagraj. The atmosphere at Dayal’s residence became electrifying as fireworks lit up the sky, and people joyously danced to the beats of Dhol Taasha. Sweets were exchanged, and heartfelt congratulations poured in as Yash Dayal’s well-wishers shared the excitement of his achievement.
Yash Dayal, following in the footsteps of his father Chandrapal Dayal, who was also a cricketer, had earlier been acquired by Gujarat Titans for Rs 3 crore 20 lakh in 2022. He played a pivotal role in helping Gujarat Titans clinch the championship in the 15th edition of the IPL. However, due to circumstances, he parted ways with the team after the 16th edition in 2023.
Meanwhile, another promising talent from Uttar Pradesh, 20-year-old Sameer Rizvi, secured a lucrative contract with Super Kings, fetching a hefty bid of Rs 8 crore 40 lakh. Recognized for his ability to smash sixes in the domestic cricket circuit, Rizvi’s impressive performances in the Uttar Pradesh T20 League and Under-23 tournament caught the attention of IPL franchises, leading to his inclusion in the Super Kings’ squad for the 17th edition scheduled for March 2024. As these young talents gear up for the IPL season, their remarkable journeys promise to add excitement and dynamism to the cricketing extravaganza.
