A Joyful Twist: Monkey’s Surprising Sojourn at Ayodhya’s Ram Temple

Estimated reading time: 2 minutes

In a delightful incident at the revered Shri Ram Janmbhoomi Temple in Ayodhya, an unexpected visitor brought a moment of joy and awe. On a serene Tuesday evening, a monkey managed to enter the sanctum sanctorum, approaching the Utsav idol of Lord Ram. This extraordinary event unfolded through the southern gate, capturing the attention of the temple trust and security personnel.

The Unusual Encounter

Taking to the microblogging site X, the temple trust shared the remarkable incident, detailing how the monkey peacefully ventured towards the Utsav idol. The security personnel, initially concerned about the possibility of the idol being dropped, approached the monkey with caution.

However, the ensuing events were nothing short of extraordinary. As the policemen moved towards the monkey, the creature calmly made its way towards the northern gate. Surprisingly, with the gate closed, the monkey changed its course towards the east. Passing through the gathered crowd, it exited through the eastern gate without causing any disturbance. The post from the temple trust humorously remarked that for the security personnel, it felt as if Hanuman ji himself had come to see Ramlala.

Post-‘Pran Pratishtha’ Ceremony Buzz

This enchanting incident occurred just a day after the grand ‘Pran Pratishtha’ ceremony at the Ayodhya temple. The ceremony witnessed the presence of notable figures, including Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, and RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat. The ‘Pran Pratishtha’ ceremony marked a significant moment in the temple’s history.

Overwhelming Devotee Turnout

Following the ceremony, the Ram Temple opened its gates to the public for the first time, drawing an overwhelming turnout of more than five lakh devotees. The unprecedented crowd prompted strategic measures by the Ayodhya district magistrate, who deployed magistrates at eight key locations across the city, according to a statement issued by the Yogi Adityanath-led government.

The gates opened at 6 am, with the last entry permitted until 10 pm. This meticulous management aimed to ensure a smooth flow of devotees, allowing them to witness the divine aura of the newly inaugurated temple.
