Ayodhya’s International Airport Facilitates Direct Air Links to Prayagraj and Chitrakoot

Estimated reading time: 2 minutes

In a significant stride towards bolstering regional connectivity, Ayodhya, the sacred city associated with Lord Ram, has unveiled its international airport. This milestone initiative, spearheaded by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, is set to usher in direct air services linking Ayodhya with various prominent cities across the country.

The Airport Authority of India has extended invitations to aviation companies, encouraging the commencement of direct flights from Prayagraj to Ayodhya. This move comes ahead of the consecration ceremonies in Ayodhya and is seen as a noteworthy step in enhancing transportation infrastructure.

Direct Air Connectivity with Prayagraj:

One of the key cities slated to benefit from this air connectivity expansion is Prayagraj, known for the historic Kumbh Mela. The initiative aims to establish direct air services between Ayodhya and Prayagraj, fostering quicker and more accessible travel for pilgrims and tourists alike. The trial operations, anticipated to coincide with the Magh Mela next year, will provide insights into the feasibility and efficiency of the air route.

Small Aircraft Operations:

To facilitate this enhanced connectivity, plans are underway to operate small 20-seat aircraft between Ayodhya and Prayagraj. These aircraft are expected to reduce travel time between the two cities to a mere 30 to 40 minutes, promising swift and efficient transportation.

Chitrakoot Joins the Connectivity Network:

Further expanding the regional air network, Chitrakoot is also included in the plans for direct air services. Similar to Prayagraj, small 20-seat aircraft will operate between Prayagraj, Chitrakoot, and Ayodhya under the Ramayana Circuit. This strategic move aligns with the broader vision of connecting key cultural and religious centers, promoting tourism and pilgrimage.

Trials During Magh Mela:

With the Magh Mela coinciding with the Pran Pratishtha ceremony in Ayodhya, aviation companies are expected to conduct trial operations during the Magh Mela, offering a preview of the upcoming direct air services. The convergence of religious events and air trials signifies a comprehensive approach to enhancing connectivity during significant gatherings.

As the groundwork for these air services unfolds, the initiative underscores the government’s commitment to advancing accessibility, promoting religious tourism, and bolstering regional connectivity in alignment with India’s rich cultural heritage.
