N. Biren Singh, Chief Minister of Manipur, lauded the 39th Assam Rifles team and Jiribam Police Station for their swift action in intercepting suspected brown sugar concealed inside pumpkins. The interception occurred as a pickup truck was headed towards Cachar from Tipaimukh, Pherzawl District.
Upon inspection, the security forces recovered 30 soap caps, collectively weighing approximately 363.45 grams (excluding the weight of the soap caps). Two individuals, Abdul Mannan Mazumder and Khalil Ulla Barbhuiya, were apprehended and handed over to Jiribam Police Station for further investigation and legal proceedings.
