Bhopal: In a significant development, Chief Minister Mohan Yadav welcomed Priyank Kanoongo, the Chairman of the National Commission for Protection of Child Rights, during a courtesy visit to Bhopal. Priyank Kanoongo, currently serving as the Chairman of the National Commission for Protection of Child Rights under the Government of India, holds a pivotal role in advocating for and implementing measures to safeguard the rights of children. His portfolio includes overseeing the effective implementation of key legislations such as the Right to Education Act, Juvenile Justice Act, POCSO Act, and Child Labor Act.

Under Kanoongo’s leadership, the Commission has been actively engaging with stakeholders, conducting workshops, and organizing awareness programs nationwide. Regular inspections of institutions related to children are undertaken to ensure adherence to established norms. Additionally, the Commission, guided by Kanoongo’s vision, has undertaken crucial studies related to various aspects of child welfare.
