Bhopal: In a significant development, Chief Minister Mohan Yadav welcomed Priyank Kanoongo, the Chairman of the National Commission for Protection of Child Rights, during a courtesy visit to Bhopal. The event marked a symbolic exchange of good wishes as Kanoongo presented a bouquet, shawl, and memento to CM Yadav.
Priyank Kanoongo, currently serving as the Chairman of the National Commission for Protection of Child Rights under the Government of India, holds a pivotal role in advocating for and implementing measures to safeguard the rights of children. His portfolio includes overseeing the effective implementation of key legislations such as the Right to Education Act, Juvenile Justice Act, POCSO Act, and Child Labor Act.
Under Kanoongo’s leadership, the Commission has been actively engaging with stakeholders, conducting workshops, and organizing awareness programs nationwide. Regular inspections of institutions related to children are undertaken to ensure adherence to established norms. Additionally, the Commission, guided by Kanoongo’s vision, has undertaken crucial studies related to various aspects of child welfare.
“The overarching goal of Priyank Kanoongo’s efforts is to guarantee that every child in the country receives their constitutional and statutory rights. Working tirelessly, he aims to foster the realization of a child-friendly society. Kanoongo’s dedication to the cause is evident in the ongoing consultations, workshops, and inspections conducted by the Commission, all geared towards creating an environment where children can thrive and develop to their full potential”.
CM Mohan Yadav, acknowledging the significance of Kanoongo’s visit, emphasized the importance of collaborative efforts in creating a society where children are protected and empowered. The exchange of good wishes during the meeting symbolized the shared commitment to the welfare and well-being of the younger generation.
