Cyclonic Circulations Over Northeast Bangladesh and Assam:

A cyclonic circulation over northeast Bangladesh, coupled with a trough extending from Bihar to Manipur, is set to bring widespread rainfall and thunderstorms across Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Sikkim, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, and Tripura. Additionally, isolated hailstorms are expected over Sikkim on May 1st, 2024. Residents should anticipate moderate to heavy rainfall, along with gusty winds ranging from 30-50 kmph. Isolated instances of extremely heavy rainfall are forecasted for specific areas, including Meghalaya on May 2nd, 2024.

Western Disturbance Impact:

A cyclonic circulation over north Pakistan and adjoining Jammu & Kashmir will lead to strong surface winds affecting Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, and Haryana, Chandigarh & Delhi on May 1st and 2nd, 2024.

Trough/Wind Discontinuity Across Madhya Pradesh to South Interior Karnataka:

Isolated to scattered rainfall is predicted over Kerala, Mahe, Tamil Nadu, and Lakshadweep due to a trough extending from southeast Madhya Pradesh to South Interior Karnataka. Residents should be prepared for light to moderate rainfall accompanied by thunderstorms and lightning over the next seven days, with Lakshadweep experiencing these conditions on May 1st, 2024.

Maximum Temperature Observation and Forecast:

High temperatures, exceeding 40°C, are expected over several regions including Gangetic West Bengal, Odisha, Bihar, Telangana, and Maharashtra. These temperatures, ranging between 43-46°C in some areas, are notably above normal by 4-8°C. The forecast indicates a continuation of these high temperatures for the next five days.

Heat Wave, Warm Night, & Hot and Humid Weather Warnings:

Heat wave conditions are forecasted for various regions, including Gangetic West Bengal, Odisha, Bihar, Rayalaseema, Saurashtra, Telangana, Interior Karnataka, Coastal Andhra Pradesh, Yanam, Kerala, Konkan, Madhya Maharashtra, Marathwada, and Tamil Nadu. Residents are advised to take precautions as severe heat wave conditions are expected in certain areas.

Additionally, warm nights are anticipated over East Madhya Pradesh and North Interior Karnataka, with hot and humid weather prevailing over Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, Karaikal, Kerala, Saurashtra, Kutch, Karnataka, Konkan, Goa, West Assam, and Tripura during specific periods.
