Skoda Auto: Over 1,00,000 Cars Sold Domestically, 44,248 Exported from India in 2023

In a remarkable feat, Skoda Auto Volkswagen India (SAVWIPL) has solidified its standing in the Indian automotive landscape as the calendar turns to 2024. The Group proudly announces domestic sales surpassing the 1,00,000 units milestone for the second consecutive year, underscoring its sustained success.

The impressive figures don’t stop there – exports have witnessed a substantial 32% year-on-year growth, with 44,248 units shipped from India. The overall customer deliveries in the domestic market have seen a commendable 4% increase, highlighting the brand’s popularity among Indian consumers.

Luxury brands within the Group – Audi, Porsche, and Lamborghini – have experienced double-digit growth, reflecting the market’s increasing affinity for premium mobility options. Volkswagen, maintaining its momentum, contributes significantly to the Group’s stable performance. Simultaneously, Skoda has solidified its sales, laying a robust foundation for future expansion in the competitive Indian market.

Piyush Arora, Managing Director and CEO of Skoda Auto Volkswagen India expresses his thoughts on the achievements of 2023, stating, “Our determination and commitment to excellence allowed us to maintain a course of consistent growth.”

Looking ahead to 2024, Arora outlines the strategic goals, emphasizing the expansion of market presence both in India and internationally. He highlights the establishment of the Parts Expedition Centre at the Chakan facility in Pune, supporting locally manufactured parts supplies for production in Vietnam from 2024.

Arora reaffirms the commitment to diversify offerings, with an emphasis on Electric (BEV) and ICE models. The Group plans to make these available through its extensive network of over 590 touchpoints across India, ensuring a broad reach and sustained customer satisfaction.

“Innovation, progress, and customer satisfaction remain at the core of our vision,” Arora concludes, outlining a dynamic roadmap for Skoda Auto Volkswagen India in the year ahead.
