Road Accident: Meerut, a city in the northern Indian state of Uttar Pradesh, was gripped with sorrow on Wednesday morning as news broke about the untimely demise of Bharatiya Janata Party’s Metropolitan General Secretary, Rajkumar Sonkar, in a tragic road accident. The incident occurred as he was en route from Circuit House to Victoria Park on his scooter when an unidentified vehicle collided with him, leading to his immediate demise.
“The heart-wrenching incident unfolded in the dense fog near the Circuit House of Civil Line police station area, highlighting the challenging visibility conditions that may have contributed to the unfortunate accident. Local authorities were quick to respond, arriving at the scene promptly and dispatching Rajkumar Sonkar’s body for post-mortem examination”.
Rajkumar Sonkar, a long-time member of the BJP and a resident of Kaseru Kheda, had been actively associated with the party for several years. In addition to his political involvement, he served as a commission agent in the bustling Lohia Nagar market. On that fateful morning, around 5 a.m., Sonkar was commuting to Lohia Nagar Mandi on his scooter when the tragic collision occurred.
The sudden demise of the BJP Metropolitan General Secretary sent shockwaves through the party’s ranks, with officials and supporters expressing their grief and condolences. Family members were plunged into chaos, grappling with the unexpected loss of a beloved figure.
Senior BJP leaders rushed to Rajkumar Sonkar’s residence to offer their condolences and support to the grieving family. The atmosphere was somber as the party mourned the loss of a dedicated member, emphasizing the impact of the tragedy on both a personal and political level.
“The circumstances surrounding the accident, compounded by the dense fog, raise concerns about road safety and visibility during the winter season. Authorities may need to address these issues to prevent similar incidents in the future, ensuring the safety of commuters, especially during adverse weather conditions”.
As Meerut reflects on the unfortunate incident that claimed the life of Rajkumar Sonkar, the city, and the BJP community unite in sorrow, honoring the memory of a committed leader who dedicated his life to the service of the party and the people he represented.
