UP Government Raises Income Limit for Backward Class Marriage Grant Scheme

The Uttar Pradesh government has announced a change in the income limit for applicants under the Backward Class Welfare marriage grant scheme. In a move aimed at easing financial burdens, the annual income limit for applicants from both urban and rural areas has been increased to ₹1 lakh.

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has been dedicated to ensuring that families face no obstacles in arranging the marriages of their daughters. This adjustment in the marriage grant scheme is part of his broader effort to support the welfare of backward-class families in the state.

The increase in the income limit is expected to make the scheme more accessible to a larger number of applicants, providing necessary financial aid for marriage expenses and reinforcing the government’s commitment to social welfare and equality.
