Uttar Pradesh: Minister Nitin Gadkari Launches ₹1750 Cr Highway Projects

In a significant move towards bolstering infrastructure and fostering economic growth in Uttar Pradesh, Union Minister of Road Transport & Highways, Shri Nitin Gadkari, inaugurated two ambitious National Highway projects worth Rs 1750 crore in Mirzapur. The foundation stone laying ceremony, attended by state ministers, MPs, MLAs, and officials, marks a significant step towards accelerating development and improving connectivity in the region.

The projects, outlined by Shri Nitin Gadkari, include the construction of a 4-lane Mirzapur bypass, incorporating a 6-lane bridge over the Ganga river, spanning 15 kilometers on National Highway 135A. Additionally, repair work will be undertaken on a 59-kilometer stretch from Mirzapur to Prayagraj and from Prayagraj to Pratapgarh, covering National Highways 35 and 330.

Highlighting the strategic importance of these projects, Shri Nitin Gadkari emphasized their role in facilitating easier access to religious sites in the Mirzapur district, thereby boosting tourism and stimulating economic development across Prayagraj and Purvanchal regions. The construction of the 4-lane Mirzapur bypass is poised to alleviate traffic congestion and enhance connectivity between Mirzapur and Ayodhya, consequently fostering increased trade activities.

The development of these National Highway projects underscores the government’s commitment to accelerating infrastructure development and promoting regional growth in Uttar Pradesh. With improved road connectivity and enhanced transportation networks, the state is poised to witness significant socio-economic benefits, paving the way for a brighter and more prosperous future.
