MP Priyanka Chaturvedi Tweets “Shame” on EPFO’s Investment in Adani Stocks

The Employees’ Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO), India’s biggest retirement fund, has invested a significant amount of capital in two Adani stocks, despite criticism from some quarters. The EPFO manages the savings of 27.73 crore formal sector employees, and joins other major institutions such as LIC, SBI and SBI Pension Fund in investing in Adani stocks. The move has been met with criticism by some who believe it is inappropriate for public institutions to invest in companies owned by private individuals.
