Union Minister Nitin Gadkari has unveiled a major infrastructure development initiative in Punjab, marking a significant step towards enhancing the state’s connectivity and transportation efficiency. With an allocation of ₹539.37 Crore, the project involves the construction of a 4-lane bypass with paved shoulders along National Highway 354.
Strategic Investment in Punjab’s Infrastructure
The sanctioned project, spanning a total length of 17.19 kilometers, is set to be developed in the Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) mode under the National Highways (Original) category for the fiscal year 2023-24. The allocation of substantial funds underscores the government’s commitment to bolstering Punjab’s infrastructure and addressing key transportation challenges in the region.
Addressing Congestion in Ferozepur Town
A primary objective of this infrastructure undertaking is to alleviate congestion in Ferozepur town. Ferozepur, a significant town in Punjab, has witnessed increased traffic congestion over the years, necessitating strategic interventions to enhance the flow of vehicles on the national highway.
Seamless and Secure Traffic Flow
The construction of a 4-lane bypass with paved shoulders along National Highway 354 is geared towards ensuring a seamless and secure flow of traffic. By providing an alternative route, the project aims to reduce congestion, enhance travel efficiency, and contribute to the overall safety and convenience of commuters in the region.
