PM to visit Rajasthan & MP, Will inaugurate New Terminal Building at Jodhpur Airport

PM Narendra Modi is gearing up for a momentous day on October 5, 2023, as he embarks on a dual-state visit to Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh. The visit promises to be a game-changer for both states as several high-impact development projects are set to be inaugurated, with the aim of fostering growth, connectivity, and improved quality of life for the citizens.

Rajasthan: A Hub of Development Initiatives

In Rajasthan, Prime Minister Modi will commence his day at around 11:15 AM in Jodhpur. Here, he will undertake the significant task of laying the foundation stone and dedicating multiple development projects, collectively valued at approximately Rs 5000 crore. These projects span various sectors, including road, rail, aviation, healthcare, and higher education.

The health infrastructure in Rajasthan is poised for a significant boost as the Prime Minister lays the foundation stone for essential projects. Among these is the ‘Trauma Centre and Critical Care Hospital Block’ at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences, Jodhpur, which comprises 350 beds and comes with a price tag exceeding Rs 350 crore. This integrated center, specializing in trauma, emergency, and critical care, will provide multidisciplinary care, diagnostics, modular operating theaters, and dialysis areas to patients, revolutionizing healthcare in the region.

In addition, Prime Minister Modi will also inaugurate seven Critical Care Blocks under the Pradhan Mantri – Ayushman Bharat Health Infrastructure Mission (PM-ABHIM). These critical care facilities are strategically distributed across Rajasthan and are set to enhance district-level critical care infrastructure, benefitting the state’s population.

Jodhpur will witness the groundbreaking of a state-of-the-art New Terminal Building at Jodhpur Airport, designed to cater to 2,500 passengers during peak hours and serve 35 lakh passengers annually. This project, with an estimated cost of Rs 480 crore, is expected to improve connectivity and boost tourism in the region.

The esteemed Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Jodhpur campus will also receive recognition, as Prime Minister Modi dedicates it to the nation. With an investment of more than Rs 1135 crore, this cutting-edge campus is a testament to India’s commitment to providing high-quality education and fostering research and innovation.

Further emphasizing the importance of education, Prime Minister Modi will dedicate various infrastructure enhancements at the Central University of Rajasthan. These include a ‘central instrumentation laboratory,’ staff quarters, and a ‘yoga & sports sciences building.’ Additionally, the foundation stone for the Central Library, a 600-capacity Hostel, and a dining facility will be laid.

Boosting Road Infrastructure in Rajasthan

Road infrastructure in Rajasthan is set to receive a major facelift as Prime Minister Modi lays the foundation stone for multiple road development projects. These projects include the four-laning of the Karwar to Dangiyawas Section of Jodhpur Ring Road on NH-125A, the construction of seven Bypasses/Re-alignments of major town portions of Balotra to Sanderao section via Jalore (NH-325), and the four-laning of the Pachpadra-Bagundi section of NH-25. Collectively, these projects are estimated to cost about Rs 1475 crore and will not only ease traffic congestion but also contribute to economic growth in the region.

Enhancing Rail Connectivity in Rajasthan

Prime Minister Modi will flag off two new train services in Rajasthan, including the ‘Runicha Express’ connecting Jaisalmer to Delhi, and a new heritage train connecting Marwar Junction to Khambli Ghat. Additionally, two significant rail projects will be dedicated to the nation: the doubling of the 145 km long ‘Degana-Rai Ka Bagh’ rail line and the 58 km long ‘Degana-Kuchaman City’ rail line.

Madhya Pradesh: A Focus on Housing, Water, and Infrastructure

In Madhya Pradesh, Prime Minister Modi will continue his day by inaugurating the Light House Project in Indore, a significant step towards realizing the ‘housing for all’ vision. This project, costing approximately Rs 128 crore, will benefit over 1000 beneficiary families by employing innovative technology to construct quality homes with essential facilities in a reduced construction time.

Prime Minister Modi’s commitment to providing safe and adequate drinking water will be showcased as he lays the foundation stone for multiple Jal Jeevan Mission projects in Mandla, Jabalpur, and Dindori districts, collectively valued at over Rs 2350 crores. Additionally, the Jal Jeevan Mission project in Seoni district, worth over Rs 100 crore, will be dedicated to the nation, benefiting about 1575 villages in Madhya Pradesh.

Infrastructure development will take center stage in Madhya Pradesh as Prime Minister Modi lays the foundation stone and dedicates to the nation projects worth more than Rs 4800 crore to improve road infrastructure. These include the upgradation of the road connecting Jharkheda-Berasia-Dholkhedi of NH 346, the four-laning of the Balaghat-Gondia section of NH 543, and the four-laning of various road sections across the state. Additionally, the upgradation of the road connecting Khalghat to Sarwardewla of NH 347C will be dedicated to the nation.

Rail projects worth more than Rs 1850 crore will also be dedicated to the nation, including the doubling of the rail line connecting Katni to Vijaysota and Marwasgram to Singrauli. These projects will bolster rail infrastructure in Madhya Pradesh, enhancing trade and tourism.

Furthering the vision of clean energy and reducing emissions, Prime Minister Modi will dedicate the Vijaipur-Auraiyan-Phulpur Pipeline Project and lay the foundation stone for the Nagpur-Jabalpur section of the Mumbai Nagpur Jharsuguda Pipeline Project. These gas pipeline projects, with a combined cost of over Rs 2850 crore, will provide clean and affordable natural gas to industries and homes.

Additionally, a new bottling plant in Jabalpur, constructed at an approximate cost of Rs 147 crore, will be inaugurated, contributing to the availability of clean and affordable gas in the region.

Prime Minister Modi’s visit to Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh on October 5, 2023, promises to be a significant event, with the inauguration, foundation stone laying, and dedication of various development projects across multiple sectors. These projects are poised to enhance the quality of life, promote connectivity, and foster economic growth in these two states.
