The India Meteorological Department offers a comprehensive outlook on weather systems, forecasting a series of meteorological events across different regions of India over the coming days.
Cyclonic circulations over northeast Assam and northeast Madhya Pradesh are expected to bring strong southwesterly/southerly winds to East and Northeast India. This will result in scattered to fairly widespread rainfall with thunderstorms, lightning, and gusty winds over Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, and Tripura in the next week.
Meanwhile, West Bengal, Sikkim, Bihar, Jharkhand, Odisha, Marathwada, West Madhya Pradesh, East Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha, and Chhattisgarh are likely to experience rainfall accompanied by thunderstorms, lightning, and squally winds during specific time frames.
In addition, isolated heavy rainfall and hailstorm activity are anticipated over certain regions, adding to the complexity of weather conditions.
A trough/wind discontinuity extending from east Vidarbha to north Tamil Nadu is expected to bring isolated to scattered rainfall with thunderstorms, lightning, and gusty winds to several states over the next five days. Coastal Andhra Pradesh, Yanam, Rayalaseema, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, Karaikal, Kerala, Mahe, and South Interior Karnataka are among the areas likely to experience heavy rainfall.
Furthermore, a Western Disturbance is projected to impact northwest India from May 9th, bringing scattered to fairly widespread rainfall activity and thunderstorms to Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh, Gilgit-Baltistan, Muzaffarabad, Himachal Pradesh, and Uttarakhand.
The forecast also includes warnings for heat wave conditions in isolated pockets of Interior Karnataka, East and West Rajasthan, and West Madhya Pradesh, as well as hot and humid weather in Gujarat, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, Karaikal, and Kerala.
These comprehensive forecasts and warnings provided by the India Meteorological Department serve as valuable insights for residents, travelers, and authorities, helping them prepare and adapt to changing weather conditions across the country.
