The latest data from the Union Health Ministry reveals a positive trend in India’s battle against COVID-19. The active caseload has decreased to 5,707 from 6,168, indicating a significant drop in the number of ongoing infections. Over the past 24 hours, the country has reported 490 new coronavirus cases.
Unfortunately, two more deaths have been recorded, bringing the total death toll to 5,31,856. As of 8 am, the total COVID-19 case tally stands at 4.49 crore (4,49,88,916). However, it is worth noting that active cases now constitute only 0.02 percent of the total infections in the country.
The government’s ongoing efforts to administer COVID-19 vaccines have played a significant role in curbing the spread of the virus. As per the ministry’s website, an impressive 220.66 crore doses of the COVID vaccine have been administered across the country.
