Ranakpur Jain Temple is an ancient temple located in the Pali district of Rajasthan, India. It is one of the most famous Jain temples in India and is renowned for its intricate architecture and stunning design. History of Ranakpur Jain Temple:
The Ranakpur Jain Temple was built in the 15th century by a wealthy Jain businessman, Dharna Shah. It is dedicated to Adinath, the first Tirthankara of Jainism. The temple is said to have been built in honor of Dharna Shah’s father, Rana Kumbha, who was a great supporter of Jainism.
The temple is an excellent example of Jain architecture and is built entirely out of white marble. The temple has 29 halls, 80 domes, and 1444 intricately carved pillars, each of which is unique. The temple’s intricate carvings depict scenes from Jain mythology and show the life and teachings of Lord Adinath. The temple’s main hall houses a black marble statue of Lord Adinath, which is about 6 feet tall.
