Russia reports record daily Covid cases high | Macron refused Russian Covid test

Russia on Thursday reported a record daily high of new coronavirus cases. On Thursday (February 10, 2022), the country reported 197076 Covid cases. Out of the total cases reported 70% (percent) were caused by Omicron variant virus. The variant still continues to spread across the country. 

In past 24 hours, Russia recorded over seven hundred deaths, as per numbers with government’s coronavirus task force reported.

On Wednesday, Russian Government had confirmed 183,103 new Covid cases. The number was up by about 20000 than the previous day. Russia’s federal response centre declared that 659 deaths had taken place.

In addition, the quick response centre said that 20178 people infected with COVID-19 have been hospitalized over the past 24 hours, wherein it’s a 0.03% decrease from the day before.

At the same time, 97163 COVID-19 patients have been discharged from hospitals across the country, as per the response centre.

Moscow logged 11521 new COVID-19 cases and 82 deaths in the same period of time, It has been confirmed by the stop coronavirus.

On Thursday, Reuters also reported reason behind French President Emmanuel Macron having been seated at a far distance from Russian President Vladimir Putin. Two sources in Macron’s entourage told Reuter’s agency that Macron was asked to take a Russian Covid test before meeting Putin in Moscow. As Macron rejected and he was seated at the opposite side of a 13-foot long table in the meeting room.
