India’s fight against the Covid-19 pandemic continues as the country reports 7,171 new cases in the past 24 hours, taking the total tally to 4.49 crore. However, there is some positive news as the number of active cases has decreased to 51,314, which is a significant drop from the earlier numbers.
In fact, the active cases now comprise only 0.11 percent of the total infections, indicating a downward trend in the pandemic’s severity. The death toll increased to 5,31,508, with 40 deaths reported in the past 24 hours.
While the situation remains challenging, the declining active cases and low positivity rate are a welcome sign for the nation. The government and health officials continue to urge citizens to follow Covid-appropriate behavior, get vaccinated, and take necessary precautions to ensure the pandemic is brought under control.
