Govardhan Puja 2023: Amidst the five-day festival of lights, Govardhan Puja holds a significant place, occurring after Dhanteras, Narak Chaturdashi, and Diwali. Commencing on the Pratipada date of Shukla Paksha in the Kartik month, this year, the festivities will start at 02:56 pm on Monday, November 13, and conclude at 02:36 pm on Tuesday, November 14.

On Tuesday, November 14, according to Udayatithi, Govardhan Puja takes place, marked by the veneration of cows and celebrated as the Annakoot festival. Both men and women participate, adorning themselves and worshiping Shri Krishna alongside the cows. The recommended color for this day’s worship is yellow, believed to be favored by Shri Krishna. Wearing yellow clothing is said to please the deity and fulfill one’s desires.
