In expressing his condolences, Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan remarked, “The life of Sukhdev Singh Gogamedi, National President of Rajput Karni Sena, has been dedicated to serving the weaker section of society.”

Chouhan conveyed his deep sorrow, stating, “The untimely demise of such a personality is extremely sad.” The Chief Minister’s expressions of sorrow resonate with the sentiment of loss felt not only by the Rajput Karni Sena but also by those who recognized Gogamedi’s efforts in social welfare.

Emphasizing the need for prompt action, Chouhan asserted, “The criminals should be arrested immediately and appropriate action should be taken; such unruly elements should not be avoided at any cost.” This call for swift justice underscores the Chief Minister’s commitment to maintaining law and order and ensuring that those responsible for Gogamedi’s demise are held accountable.

In his messages, Shivraj Singh Chouhan expressed his prayers, saying, “I pray to Almighty God to give peace to the departed soul and give strength to the family to bear this deep loss.” These words reflect not only a sense of mourning but also a hope for solace for the grieving family members and the larger community impacted by Gogamedi’s passing.

In a distressing turn of events, Sukhdev Singh Gogamedi, the National President of Rashtriya Rajput Karni Sena, met a tragic end when assailants opened fire on him in Jaipur, Rajasthan, on Tuesday, December 5. The assailants fled the scene after the daylight attack, leaving Gogamedi critically injured. Rushed to the nearby Metro Mass Hospital, he was declared brought dead by doctors. Another individual, Ajit Singh, who was present during the attack, sustained serious injuries.

Sukhdev Singh Gogamedi had a longstanding association with the Karni Sena, but internal disputes led to the formation of his independent organization, Rashtriya Rajput Karni Sena, where he served as the president. This incident marks a tragic chapter in his journey, reflecting the internal tensions within the Karni Sena.

The name Sukhdev Singh Gogamedi became widely recognized during the tumultuous times surrounding the release of Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s film “Padmavat” in 2017. Members of the Rajput Karni Sena, led by Gogamedi, were involved in vandalizing the film set in Jaigarh, with director Bhansali becoming a target of their protests. The incident escalated into a nationwide controversy, with Gogamedi playing a prominent role in the opposition to the film.

Apart from the Padmavat controversy, Gogamedi’s involvement in the protests that followed the encounter of gangster Anandpal in Rajasthan brought him into the limelight. The unrest and protests during this period added to the complex narrative surrounding Gogamedi and the Karni Sena.
