The Election Commission of India (ECI) took to Twitter to address a misleading post regarding the conduct of polling at a polling station in Assam. The post, shared under the hashtag #GE2024, implied a recent incident related to the ongoing General Elections of 2024. However, the ECI clarified that the incident actually occurred during the Assam State elections in 2021.
The mischievous intent behind the post sought to create confusion and misinterpretation among voters and the public. To set the record straight, the Chief Electoral Officer of Assam provided clarification, affirming that the incident in question was not relevant to the ongoing General Elections but rather to a past electoral event.
