PM Modi Launches PM-SURAJ Portal, Extends Credit Support to Entrepreneurs

PM-SURAJ Portal: Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed a nationwide program today, marking a significant outreach for credit support to disadvantaged sections via video conferencing. During the event, PM Modi launched the (Pradhan Mantri Samajik Utthan evam Rozgar Adharit Jankalyan) PM-SURAJ portal and sanctioned credit support to one lakh entrepreneurs from disadvantaged sections across the country.

In his interactions with beneficiaries, PM Modi commended their remarkable journeys and contributions to society. Shri Narendra Sen from Indore, Madhya Pradesh, shared his inspiring transformation from owning a cybercafe to becoming the founder of an internet company specializing in cloud computing. Praising his entrepreneurial spirit, PM Modi highlighted the importance of digital empowerment for MSMEs.

Similarly, Neelam Kumari from Jammu, who runs a boutique, shared her challenges during the pandemic and expressed gratitude for government welfare schemes that supported her business endeavors. PM Modi lauded her as a job creator and underscored the significance of inclusive development, where individuals from every corner of the country benefit from government initiatives.

Shri Naresh from Ahmednagar, Maharashtra, co-founder of Jal Jeevan Agrotech, highlighted his startup’s efforts in preserving agricultural wastewater and acknowledged government support, including financial assistance under the Ambedkar Social Innovation Mission. PM Modi praised his commitment to agricultural innovation and encouraged other startups to leverage government schemes for growth.

Smt Muthamma from Guntur, a Safai Karamchari, shared her emotional journey of empowerment, emphasizing the transformative impact of government initiatives like the allocation of a septic tank desludging vehicle. PM Modi lauded her resilience and reaffirmed the government’s commitment to dignity and prosperity for all citizens, especially women and marginalized communities.

“Addressing the occasion, PM Modi expressed gratitude for the overwhelming participation and reiterated the government’s dedication to uplift Dalits, backward, and deprived sections of society. He highlighted the launch of the SURAJ portal as another step towards transparent and efficient delivery of financial assistance to disadvantaged groups, emphasizing the government’s focus on inclusive development”.

PM Modi emphasized the importance of empowering marginalized communities to achieve the goal of Viksit Bharat by 2047. He outlined various government initiatives aimed at socio-economic upliftment, including increased financial assistance, scholarships, and entrepreneurship schemes for SC, ST, and OBC communities. He assured continued efforts to provide dignity and justice to the underprivileged, pledging intensified development in the years to come.
