On the 24th of January, Nitin Gadkari pays tribute to Maharishi Markandeya Bhagwan on his birth anniversary. He said Lord Markandeya Jayanti wishes to the Padmasali brothers.
Maharishi Markandeya is a revered sage in Hindu mythology, known for his devotion to the god Shiva and his spiritual knowledge.
According to Hindu texts, Markandeya was a devotee of Shiva from a young age and was granted immortality by god. He is said to have lived for thousands of years, and during this time, he gained a deep understanding of the nature of the universe and the path to spiritual liberation.
Markandeya is also known for his role in the Hindu epic, the Mahabharata. In this story, he is said to have been present at the battle of Kurukshetra, where he served as a wise counselor to the Pandavas, the heroes of the epic.
Markandeya is also known for his authorship of the Markandeya Purana, one of the eighteen major Puranas in Hinduism. This ancient text contains a wide range of knowledge on various topics such as cosmology, mythology, and philosophy. It also contains a detailed description of the different forms of God, including Vishnu and Shiva, and their respective incarnations.
In addition to his role as a sage and author, Maharishi Markandeya is also remembered for his devotion to Shiva. He is said to have worshipped the god with great devotion, and as a result, was granted many boons, including immortality.
Markandeya is an important figure in Hinduism and his teachings continue to inspire and guide devotees on the path of spiritual advancement. His devotion to Shiva and his deep understanding of the universe continue to make him an inspiration to many.
Markandeya is also worshipped as a god and is considered to be an incarnation of Lord Shiva. He is said to be the protector of children and is invoked for blessings for children. Markandeya Jayanti, the birthday of Maharishi Markandeya, is celebrated by Hindus across the world and is considered to be an auspicious day for the worship of Lord Shiva.
