The Change of Guard ceremony, a popular attraction for tourists and visitors at the Rashtrapati Bhavan in New Delhi, India, will not be held this coming Saturday, February 11, 2023. The ceremonial event, which takes place on the Forecourt of the Rashtrapati Bhavan, has been temporarily suspended due to preparations related to the 62nd Raising Day of the 6 SIKH (the Ceremonial Battalion).
The Change of Guard ceremony, which is held every Saturday, is a traditional and ceremonial event that marks the changing of the Presidential Guard at Rashtrapati Bhavan. The ceremony involves the old guard being relieved of their duties and replaced by a new guard, in a well-choreographed and highly synchronized display of military precision and discipline.
In light of the preparations related to the 62nd Raising Day of the 6 SIKH, the Change of Guard ceremony has been temporarily suspended. The decision to temporarily suspend the ceremony was made in order to ensure the safety and security of all those attending the Raising Day celebrations and to allow for the smooth running of the event.
However, this coming Saturday, the Forecourt of Rashtrapati Bhavan will be a busy place, as the 6 SIKH (the Ceremonial Battalion) will be celebrating its 62nd Raising Day. The event, which marks the founding of the battalion, will be attended by high-ranking military officials, dignitaries, and members of the public.
