In a cinematic clash of titans, Prabhas’ action-packed saga ‘Salaar’ went head-to-head with Shah Rukh Khan’s much-anticipated film ‘Dunki’ at the Indian box office on December 28th. The battle for audience attention was intense, and the numbers tell a compelling story.
Salaar’s Triumph:
‘Salaar’ emerged victorious by selling a whopping 6,55,934 tickets across 9149 shows, boasting a substantial 26.47% occupancy rate. The film’s success reverberated through national cinema chains:
- PVR: Salaar secured 91,856 admissions, raking in ₹2.61 crore.
- INOX: The film attracted 73,993 viewers, contributing ₹1.83 crore to its impressive earnings.
- Cinepolis: Salaar’s numbers at Cinepolis stood at 35,782, generating ₹0.96 crore in revenue.
When considering all theaters, ‘Salaar’ amassed a staggering ₹12.59 crore, marking a remarkable performance at the box office.
Dunki’s Effort:
On the other side of the spectrum, ‘Dunki’ put up a commendable fight, selling 3,15,030 tickets across 6943 shows, securing an 18.55% occupancy rate. The film’s performance in national cinema chains was as follows:
- PVR: Dunki managed to sell 60,898 tickets, accumulating ₹2.26 crore.
- INOX: With 40,870 admissions, the film earned ₹1.44 crore at INOX theaters.
- Cinepolis: Dunki’s numbers at Cinepolis were 22,376, contributing ₹0.75 crore to its overall box office revenue.
Considering all theaters, ‘Dunki’ reached a total collection of ₹7.11 crore, a respectable figure that highlights its appeal among the audience.
Prabhas’ ‘Salaar’ undeniably emerged as the clear winner on December 28th, showcasing its box office prowess. The film’s stellar performance in both national chains and across all theaters underscored its widespread popularity among moviegoers. However, Shah Rukh Khan’s ‘Dunki’ managed to hold its ground, putting up a commendable fight and earning a significant box office total.
As the year draws to a close, these box office clashes continue to captivate audiences, leaving fans eager to witness the unfolding dynamics of the Indian film industry in the coming months.
