Heat Wave: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a comprehensive weather forecast for Eastern and Northeastern India, warning of various weather phenomena expected over the coming days.
In Gangetic West Bengal and Odisha, IMD predicts a continuation of the ongoing heat wave to severe heat wave conditions on April 20 and 21, 2024. However, temperatures are expected to gradually reduce thereafter.
Additionally, from April 20 to April 24, 2024, Northeast India is likely to experience heavy rainfall accompanied by thunderstorms, lightning, and gusty winds at isolated places. Similarly, thunderstorms with lightning and strong gusty winds are forecasted over Central and South Peninsular India during April 20 to April 22, 2024.
The IMD’s forecast serves as a crucial warning for residents and authorities in the affected regions, urging them to take necessary precautions to mitigate potential risks. In areas experiencing heat wave conditions, individuals are advised to stay hydrated, avoid prolonged exposure to the sun, and take adequate measures to stay cool.
In regions expecting heavy rainfall, thunderstorms, and gusty winds, precautions should be taken to prevent waterlogging, flooding, and damage to property. Residents are encouraged to stay indoors during adverse weather conditions and follow safety guidelines issued by local authorities.
