In a significant move to recognize and bolster the contributions of guest teachers in Madhya Pradesh, Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan recently attended a conference dedicated to these educators in Bhopal. During this conference, Chief Minister Chouhan interacted with guest teachers and announced a series of crucial decisions aimed at enhancing their role in increasing literacy and education access across the state.

Guest Teachers: Pillars of Education in Madhya Pradesh

Guest teachers have played a pivotal role in the educational landscape of Madhya Pradesh, tirelessly working to boost literacy rates and spread the light of education in every village. Their unwavering commitment and dedication have not gone unnoticed, and the state government is taking proactive steps to acknowledge their invaluable contributions.

Empowering Guest Teachers: Key Decisions

During the conference, Chief Minister Chouhan unveiled a comprehensive plan to support and empower guest teachers across the state:

1. Bonus for Guest Teachers: Guest teachers will now receive bonus points, with a maximum limit of 4 and 20 marks per year. These bonuses aim to reward exceptional performance and dedication among guest teachers.

2. Regularization through Eligibility Test: In a move towards job security, the state government plans to regularize guest teachers by conducting an eligibility test. This initiative provides a pathway for guest teachers to transition into permanent teaching positions.

3. Increase in Reservation: To create more opportunities for guest teachers in the education sector, the reservation quota for guest teachers in teacher recruitment is being increased from 25% to 50%. This means that a larger percentage of teaching positions will be reserved for guest teachers in the future.

4. Enhanced Honorarium: Recognizing the financial challenges faced by guest teachers, the government is substantially increasing their honorarium. The new rates are as follows:

  • Class-1: ₹18,000 (previously ₹9,000)
  • Class-2: ₹14,000 (previously ₹7,000)
  • Class-3: ₹10,000 (previously ₹5,000)

5. One-Year Contracts: Guest teachers will now be offered one-year contracts, providing them with greater job security and stability in their roles.

6. Monthly Honorarium: To further ease the financial burden on guest teachers, the government has decided to arrange their honorarium on a monthly basis, ensuring a more regular and predictable income.

A Brighter Future for Madhya Pradesh’s Education

These decisions reflect the commitment of the Madhya Pradesh government to strengthen its education system by acknowledging and empowering guest teachers. With increased reservation, improved financial incentives, and pathways to regularization, guest teachers are set to play an even more vital role in expanding access to quality education in every corner of the state.

As Chief Minister Chouhan aptly stated during the conference, “Guest teachers have done an important task of increasing literacy in Madhya Pradesh and lighting the lamp of education in every village with their dutifulness and dedication. We are committed to supporting their noble mission and ensuring they have the resources and recognition they deserve.” Madhya Pradesh’s education system is on the path to greater inclusivity and excellence, thanks to the dedication of guest teachers and the government’s visionary initiatives.
