In a noteworthy showcase, the Ministry of Culture is set to present the ‘Anant Sutra – The Endless Thread’ textile installation at Kartavya Path. Positioned behind the seated spectators in the enclosures, this visually captivating installation pays homage to the timeless gift of India to the fashion world – the saree.

Comprising nearly 1,900 sarees and drapes from every corner of the country, the unique display features wooden frames along the Kartavya Path, with each saree elevated to a height. Additionally, QR codes will be incorporated, allowing attendees to scan and discover details about the weaving and embroidery arts employed in each piece.

Ms. Amita Prasad Sarbhai, the Joint Secretary of the Ministry of Culture, announced today that the ‘Anant Sutra’ installation will offer a spectacular visual delight, showcasing sarees, weaves, and embroideries from different States and Union Territories of India. This vibrant backdrop along the Kartavya Path aims to celebrate the rich cultural diversity of the nation.

This initiative serves as the Ministry of Culture’s tribute to the formidable women power of India and the countless weavers who have preserved this timeless tradition across generations. Present at the announcement were Ms. Sandhya Raman, the curator of the installation, Dr. Sachhidanand Joshi, Member Secretary of IGNCA, and Professor Richa Kamboj.
