From Western Disturbances to cyclonic circulations, here’s a breakdown of what to expect in terms of rainfall, temperature, and warnings from April 27th to April 30th.

Western Disturbance and Cyclonic Circulations:

A Western Disturbance, coupled with a cyclonic circulation over Pakistan and neighboring regions, is expected to bring widespread light to moderate rainfall and snowfall over Jammu-Kashmir, Ladakh, Gilgit-Baltistan, Muzaffarabad, Himachal Pradesh, and Uttarakhand. Additionally, there’s a possibility of hailstorms in Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand on specific dates.

Another cyclonic circulation lies over northeast Assam, while a trough extends from north Odisha to north Bangladesh. These systems will likely cause fairly widespread to widespread rainfall over Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, and Tripura, and scattered rainfall over Sikkim during the mentioned period.

Temperature Observations:

Maximum temperatures have soared in several regions, surpassing normal levels by 2-6°C. Areas experiencing temperatures ranging from 42-44°C include parts of Odisha, Rayalaseema, Gangetic West Bengal, Vidarbha, Telangana, and isolated pockets in other states.

Warnings for the Next 5 Days:

  • Heat Wave: Expect severe heat wave conditions in many places over Gangetic West Bengal and isolated pockets over Odisha, Bihar, Jharkhand, Telangana, Rayalaseema, Interior Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, East Uttar Pradesh, and more. Additionally, heat wave conditions may prevail in specific regions on specific dates, including Kerala, Mahe, Konkan, Coastal Andhra Pradesh, and Yanam.
  • Warm Night: Hot and humid weather is forecasted for Assam, Meghalaya, Tripura, Kerala, Mahe, Coastal Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, Karaikal, Coastal Andhra Pradesh, and Yanam on various dates.
