The Election Commission has meticulously outlined the schedule for the bye-election:
- Issue of Notifications: The notifications will be released on August 29, 2023 (Tuesday).
- Last Date of Making Nominations: Interested candidates can submit their nominations until September 5, 2023 (Tuesday).
- Scrutiny of Nominations: The nominations will be scrutinized on September 6, 2023 (Wednesday).
- Last Date for Withdrawal of Candidatures: Candidates can withdraw their candidatures until September 8, 2023 (Friday).
- Date of Poll: The election will take place on September 15, 2023 (Friday).
- Polling Hours: The polling booths will be open from 09:00 am to 04:00 pm.
- Counting of Votes: The votes will be counted on September 15, 2023 (Friday) at 05:00 pm.
- Completion of Election: The election process is expected to be completed by September 19, 2023 (Tuesday).

In light of the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic, the Election Commission has issued comprehensive guidelines that need to be followed throughout the election process. The Chief Secretary of Uttar Pradesh has been directed to appoint a senior officer from the state to oversee the arrangements for the bye-election. This officer’s responsibility will include ensuring that all extant instructions regarding Covid-19 containment measures are diligently followed during the election process.
